I've gone through countless electric griddles over the years. Most are too small and are very inconsistent when it comes to surface heat. Making matters even worse, the so-called "non-stick" properties quickly erode after a few cleanings. My Presto griddle arrived recently and we immediately put it to the test. It easily holds 12 pieces of French toast or a dozen pancakes! Best of all, the cooking surface offers excellent even heating. I didn't use any grease when cooking, and everything comes off quickly and relatively cleanly. It appears I've finally found a griddle that meets (and exceeds) my expectations. Highly recommended, and the pancake griddle price is great.

Its about time a manufacture designed a griddle with a little room for flipping and turning. This griddle has an amazingly large (actual cooking surface)this is about as close to a commercial size, for in home use griddle, your going to find. I just recently purchased the Presto 22" griddle, and it works very well. However, it has a limited cooking surface area. Whereas, when I took this "BIG" Tilt N Drain model out of the box. I just said "WOW" now this is what I've been looking for. I've read a few comments, regarding the size (storage) as well as issues with uneven heating. I bought this presto professional griddle because I wanted to make the "Instant Pancakes" from Alton Brown's Good Eats show on the Food Network. If you're going to go through the trouble of making your own mix, you should at least cook them on a griddle large enough to cook them all at the same time instead of one by one in a frying pan. I make the pancakes about 6 inches wide, and can make 6 at once on this griddle with room left over for two eggs. All in all this griddle performs as expected, which is to say that it provides accurate and even heat over the cooking surface.

The coolest part is in the exact center, as the heating element takes the square shape of the griddle, but it is not so cool as to make much of a difference. My method is to pour the first pancake in the center of the griddle burner so it cooks the longest, and this is all the adjustment that needs to be made. I haven't tried any meats on it yet, I kind of got used to bacon in a frying pan, so I can't make any comments on that. But if you like pancakes and eggs cooked up perfectly, and you cook for more than one person, this is the griddle to buy.
